Click on the job request button. After submitting the request you will be given the opportunity to email any documents that need to be used. Then, if you wish, you can come in to see us to discuss your job requirements or give us a call.
You can choose to pay cash (attracts 10% GST) or use your departments cost centre. If charging to your department, check with your authoriser (budget manager) before submitting your job. You will need to supply Multimedia Services with the cost-code and the name of the authoriser (which cannot be the same as the person requesting the job).
Multimedia Services requires a minimum of two weeks (from the date we receive all the information and payment approval), to design and print your poster. The more time you give us, the better! If you have designed your own poster, we require a minimum of two days to print and laminate from the date we receive the signed proof and payment approval.
We accept most file types for printing–PDFs are ideal. We do not accept Publisher files. Ensure that you design at the size that you want your poster printed (In PowerPoint: Design tab, Slide Size dropdown, Custom Slide Size..., Slides sized for: choose CUSTOM and enter the dimensions of your poster).
All supplied content must be final. If your content needs to be checked by any contributors or supervisors, this must be done before handing it over for design.
Text is best supplied as a Microsoft Word document. Keep your total word count to around 800 (maximum 1000 words). If you have more than 3 image components (this includes graphs, tables, flowcharts or descriptive images), your word count needs to be closer to 500.
Graphs should be supplied in their original file type e.g. Excel or PowerPoint (with your data included).
Images should be supplied in their original format. (DO NOT supply them in a Word or PowerPoint document unless that is your only copy. If you have multiple versions of an image, provide the version that has the largest file size. Note that images saved from the web are not suitable for large posters due to their reduced quality and copyright restriction.
Logos CHS, ANU and Health Directorate logos do not need to be supplied. Any additional logos will need to be supplied by you with approval gained from the department/organisation involved. Logos can usually be sourced from an organisations public affairs department. Do not save a logo from a website. Ask the organisation for an EPS copy of their logo, or the next highest quality version for PRINT.
Yes. Multimedia Services will always show you a draft design and make sure that you are happy with it before proceeding to print.
Before beginning a design job Multimedia Services will discuss any design requirements that you might have to ensure that we have the best understanding of what you want.
We will not print anything until you are happy and give us your approval to print.
The initial design cost involves a draft design with additional minor changes including two A3 colour proofs. Any major layout and design changes after the second proof will incur additional design charges.
Multimedia Services can print up to 1 metre x 3.2 metres. Standard poster sizes are on display at Multimedia Services. Visit our Print Management page for dimensions.
